Entry Requirements

UK passport holders must have a valid passport. British Citizens and British National (Overseas) residing in Hong Kong can obtain a multiple-entry visa on arrival for three months, but other passport holders must obtain a visa from an overseas Turkish mission prior to arrival.

Time Difference

Turkey is in the Eastern European Time Zone (EET); Standard Time is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2) in winter and 3 hours of ahead of GMT in summer during the daylight saving months.

Language

Turkish is the official language, but English may be spoken in tourist areas. Attempts to speak Turkish are often warmly welcomed.

Electricity

220 V, 50 Hz. The Continental two-round-pin plug is standard.
