staff at checkin desk were very confusing in explaining extra insurance, which I did not require. Also charged 86 euro for full tank of petrol and asked to return as empty as possible. which proved to be very difficult, and overcharged of approx. 40 euro. would be reluctant to use car hire company with similar rules.

Please abandon your policy of requiring, in some contracts, that the car is returned empty. I usually rent for 3-4 days and find this a very expensive requirement. On this occasion the car I hired required that it be returned full which, I suggest, is a much fairer way of dealing with fuel use. I no longer rent from those of your competitors who insist on returning cars empty.

I have been using your service from Pisa for about 10 years now. I have always been a satisfied customer until this last time. I would recommend auto Europe but I would not recommend Goldcar.

It took over an hour for Goldcar to deal with me in spite of the fact there were only two other customers in front of me. I was not happy that they took a large deposit out of my account, I assume this has been returned. The car did have damage to it and I returned to report this. When I eventually returned the car I was asked to leave the keys without the paperwork being properly checked. I also object to paying in advance for a tank of petrol I never fully used and at a cost higher than I would have paid at the service station. I also paid over the odds for the hire of snow chains. I do not wish to use Goldcar again.

i am very satisfied for u service. but the only thing i don't like was to pay for the petrol before i take the car out.i think this is wrong.because when i drop the car offi i let 1/4 off petrol in the car and i don't get eny money back for that.apart from this everything was fine thank you.

I have used Auto Europe many times - do check the small print though every time and check the small details before completing the booking. Beware of Full to empty rentals if you are doing only a small distance and using less than a tank of fuel - you will still be charged for the complete tank and 21% VAT will be applied on top. Snow chain options are not cheap. Evaluate the level of insurance carefully - excesses are steep if you have a problem and use the standard insurance option.

Try to avoid rentals with the full to empty policy - you will unless you are unlucky leave some fuel in the tank (as we did) and they will charge you a complete top up and then have to add 21% VAT for this service, thereby the customer is guaranteed to lose out twice over.

Their terms are a rip off.Fuel policy all in fauvor of Goldcar.Returning a full tank is fairer.Safety equipment required by local law should be refunded on return(snow chain!)to charge 80 euro for them is daylight robbery.Terms very biased all to their benefits.Rates may be lowest but you end up paying double or more because of their policies.I will not use them again.

High level of service from Auto Europe. Sadly let down by Goldcar Rentals at Pisa who should not be trusted. My problem was dealt with quickly by Auto Europe who I can't fault. I will use again but will ask to be directed to another rental company to avoid problems.

Far to many additions to the rental that they are not prepared to drop even though some are totally unnessasary. The rental would have been the most expensive from any of the car hire companies, the agent told me there had been many complaints. I would never hire from this company again but I will use Auto Europe and make sure I request this comany are not to be used by me.

I will not rent a car from Gold car again. They were very aggressive in their sales of additional insurance and made it clear we would be "on our own" if we didn't buy their insurance. Because I felt that they would be very unhelpful and money grabbing if something did go wrong and I didn't have their insurance, I decided to pay the additional 90 euros which made the whole car hire very expensive. in addition, they charge you for a full tank and make sure you pay over the odds when comparing local fuel prices.

When I collected my car, I was told that it had a full tank of petrol but I had to bring it back as near as empty as poss. I was told it was the option I had chosen. This is unusual and i was unaware of this option beforehand.

The charge for a full tank of petrol was unexpected. It was extremely high and as I only had the car for 4 days, I had to pay for a full tank despite using less than half a tank of petrol. I would recommend that future customers do not use Goldcar because of this 'hidden charge'.

Easy to book on line and pick up was simple. Some confusion over paying the one way drop fee at both ends. Worked out to half at pick up and half at drop off. Staff at Palermo airport were excellent, friendly, efficient, and helpful.
