My experience with Auto Europe was very good and I was given good advice when I contacted the USA number to get help concerning a problem with the rental company DOLLAR over charges for EXTRAS (see below)

Rental agent tried all manner of methods to get me to pay for an upgrade including telling me that the SUV ordered was really unsuitable for driving to the mountains, because of the engine size.
She also signed me up, without advising me, for additional options amounting to $321, which fortunately I spotted and got them to credit back to me on returning the car. I could however easily have missed this and been $321 worse off.
I think Auto Europe should CLEARLY WARN customers of these sorts of practices used by rental companies and their agents and advise them to check carefully the rental agreement to ensure no extras have been added.

Great service and great value
However, my flight details changed and the rental pickup was two hours later than booked. As a consequence Dollar no-longer had the car I requested.
I had spoken to an auto-europe representative a week earlier who had assured me that the flight changes would not affect the rental - as a learning point, you should advise customers to keep the pickup details accurate!

The 4x4 car I reserved was not available because I arrived for pickup 2 hours late
Whilst I had to make do with a lesser vehicle, to Dollar's credit, they not only arrange for the correct vehicle to be available the next day, they also delivered it to me - 100 miles away.
great service eventually!

Generally satisfied but a little annoyed that your website uses an algorithym to record previous visits, and pushes the price up accrodingly. Hence it was cheaper in the end to book for 21 was than 20 days amd return the car a day later than we had anticipated

Much better than I had read about. I would have given it a higher rating if pre- payed full tank of fuel had no been so expensive.
