Scare yourself silly at the Lisbon International Horror Film Festival

See some of Portugal's scariest short and independent films at the MotelX horror film festival

Aug 17, 2011
Horror films have provided moviegoers with some of the most intense moments in cinematic history. From the iconic Janet Leigh shower scene in Psycho, to Jamie Lee Curtis' memorable performance in John Carpenter's Halloween, horror movies are in a class all their own. Fright fans should take a car hire in Portugal and make their way to the MotelX Lisbon International Horror Film Festival to indulge their love of the terrifying and macabre this September.

The festival offers an impressive lineup of events that will appeal to any horror movie fanatic. Eli Roth, director of Cabin Fever and Hostel, will be in attendance, answering questions and providing visitors to the event with an insight into his creative process and the challenges he faced in bringing his artistic vision to the screen. The event also features the MotelX award, recognizing the best Portuguese short horror film, in addition to a rare screening of the 1979 cult classic, Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun, directed by Jess Franco.

Offering visitors a uniquely Portuguese look at the genre, the event promises some real treats for fans of things that go bump in the night. Movie buffs can take a car hire in Lisbon to reach the festival and sample the best in Portuguese horror.
