The Big Apple has a long and storied tradition of filmmaking. Tourists taking a
car hire in New York can watch films from the auteurs of tomorrow at the New Directors/New Films Festival, held at and organized by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. The event takes place from March 21 until April 1.
Screened in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art, the festival is renowned for kick-starting the careers of some of Hollywood's leading cinematic talent. Directors who got their start thanks to the festival include Stephen Spielberg, Darren Aronofsky, Spike Lee, Kelly Reichardt, Nicole Holofcener and Pedro Almodovar.
Aspiring filmmakers from across the country submit their films to the event in hopes of being discovered, and movies screened at the festival are judged by an expert panel of industry professionals.
Although the full programme has yet to be announced, visitors who have an appreciation for cinema are sure to be in for a treat. Located a short drive from Central Park, the Film Society of Lincoln Center is easily accessible from the Joe DiMaggio Highway, making a
car hire in the United States a great way for movie buffs to reach the event.
