Visitors taking a
car hire in Spain can enjoy short films from around the world at the MECAL International Short Film Festival of Barcelona. Taking place from April 13-29, the event screens hundreds of short movies from around the world, making it one of the largest events of its kind in Europe.
This year's programme features some powerful, thought-provoking movies. Highlights include director Ashley Harris' Tethered, the story of a man whose life is slowly eroded by violence; Shawn Christensen's Curfew, a tale of responsibility and family loyalties; Nathalie Álvarez Mesén's Inte Blå, a love story focusing on co-dependent couple Nina and Adrian; and Edward Housden's Cul de Bouteille, which chronicles the life of a short-sighted man who prefers to live in the blurry world inhabited by monsters and fantastic creatures he creates whenever he removes his glasses.
The festival is open to submissions from amateur filmmakers, offering attendees the chance to see new and emerging cinematic talent for the first time. A
car hire in Barcelona is an ideal way for film fans to reach the various theatres and cinemas participating in the festival.
